Species diversity - Scale matters
-
Lauren B. Buckley is a PhD Student in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at Stanford University. Her dissertation couples bioenergetic models and field studies in order to understand how spatial distributions of Caribbean lizards form. Her research focuses on developing spatially explicit and process-based models of species distributions. Joan Roughgarden is Professor of Biological Sciences and of Geophysics at Stanford University. She is a theoretical ecologist who has worked with Anolis lizards in the Caribbean and intertidal populations in California. Her most recent book, Evolution's Rainbow, received the Stonewall Prize for the best non-fiction work in 2004 from the American Library Association. Editor: Bradford Hawkins
