Sexual isolation in Drosophila melanogaster: A possible case of incipient speciation
-
Thomas Parchman is a doctoral student in the laboratory of Dr. Craig Benkman, where his dissertation research is focused on the determining the contribution of geographically structured coevolution between crossbills and conifers to the adaptive diversification of crossbills. His general interests are in integrating studies of natural selection and genetic variation in the study of microevolutionary process, coevolution, and speciation. Dr. Craig Benkman is a professor in the Department of Zoology and Physiology at the University of Wyoming. His research has focused on linking resource availability to various aspects of behavior, ecology, and evolution. The major focus of current work in his laboratory is on the role of resource specialization and coevolution in the evolution of crossbill diversity. Dr. Seth Britch is currently a Research Entomologist with the USDA Agricultural Research Service studying host range evolution and speciation in parasitoid wasps.
