    • 3H]MK-801 (5.0 nM) was incubated in 10 mM Tris-acetate buffer for 3 h in the presence of glutamate and glycine (10 μM each) with membranes prepared from rat hippocampus or cerebral cortex. Bound ligand was separated by filtration. For nonspecific binding, the channel-opening co-agonists glutamate and glycine were replaced by their respective antagonists d-2-amino-5-phosphonopentanoic acid (100 μM) and 5,7-dichlorokynurenic acid (10 μM, both from Tocris Bioscience).
