note
-
For imine 3b, selective saturation of the signal of the iminic proton afforded significant NOESY with aromatic protons (1.2%) and protons of the methyl group (1%). Analogously, selective saturation at δH 2.20 (the hydrogens of the methyl group) only afforded significant NOESY with the iminic proton (1%) and no effect with aromatic protons. On the other hand, for 3d, selective saturation at δH 7.55 afforded significant NOESY with the protons of the methylene group (0.4%), the methyl group (0.5%), and the protons of the trimethylsilyl group (0.5%), but selective saturation at δH 3.2 (the hydrogens of the methylene group) only afforded significant NOESY with the iminic proton (1%) and not with the protons of the methyl group.
