1. During the summer of 2003, Cynthia Tysick reviewed the core requirements and course descriptions of all ALA-accredited institutions in the United States. Data were gathered on the number of institutions that required a thesis or final project, the number of institutions that required research coursework for an MLS, and the number of institutions that, while not requiring it for graduation, offered a research methods course.
