    • A "push-pull" symmetry of the electromechanical modulation in the band structure has not been observed in our experiments so far. This could be due to the fact that the electromechanical effect plays only a minor role in the band structure modulation and in addition the elongation/contraction of carbon nanotubes is asymmetrical upon electron/hole doping.
