Twelve weeks of neoadjuvant capecitabine (cap) and oxaliplatin (ox) followed by synchronous chemoradiation (CRT) and total mesorectal excision (TME) in MRI defined poor risk locally advanced rectal cancer resulted in promising tumor regression and rapid symptomatic relief.
