This is the first study of using bioptics in patients with high hyperopia. The authors conclude that LASIK after iris-claw phakic IOL implantation was safe and did not cause additional endothelial loss.

This study shows that traditional clinical estimates of anterior chamber and ciliary sulcus diameter are poor predictors of their dimensions.

19. Baikoff G, Lutun E, Ferraz C, Wei J. Static and dynamic analysis of the anterior segment with optical coherence tomography. J Cataract Refract Surg 2004; 30:1843-1850. Using the AC OCT, the authors demonstrate objective changes in the anterior segment during accommodation, including the loss of function in presbyopia.

J Cataract Refract Surg 2004; 30:2007-2012. This study gives insight as to the anatomic relationships among the corneal endothelium, the crystalline lens, and the phakic IOL.

Ophthalmology 2004; 111:309-317. This article provides an analysis of the FDA data on endothelial cell density after Artisan phakic IOL implantation. Additionally, there is a discussion about how the accuracy and repeatability of specular microscopy affect the interpretation of such studies.
