A search in the CSD (Cambridge Structural Database, Version 5.24) for mononuclear Pd(II) complexes containing monodentate acetate ligand has demonstrated that, on average, the mean plane containing the ligand and the mean coordination plane are nearly orthogonal to each other with an evident lack of planarity of the molecule.
