In fungal sepsis cases, dissemination with cardiac vegetations or thrombi occurred in 5%, endophthalmitis in 3%, renal involvement in 5%, and central nervous system abscesses in 4%. Not all patients received surveillance of all organ systems, and antifungal treatment before 1990 was often delayed.
