HIV incidence among injection drug users in New York City, 1992–1997: evidence for a declining epidemic
-
PID: 10705851, COI: 1:STN:280:DC%2BD3c7ntVShuw%3D%3D, This compendium of 10 studies documents a large decrease HIV incidence among New York City injection drug users (weighted average: less than 1 per 100 person-years). The authors note that, while HIV infections continue to occur this cohort, they do so at much lower levels than previously observed. It is not possible to determine the cause(s) of this new incidence, but low incidence among IDUs the United States appears to be a pattern existing cohort studies
