Adolesc Psychol 2004; 33:105-124. Well designed, developmentally informed study investigating the additive effects in the short term of a teacher-training component to child and parent-based interventions for ODD. Importantly, the study outcomes included independent observations of child behaviour at home with both parents, and in school with peers and teachers, thereby permitting an assessment of specific treatment effects for the different intervention components.

A well designed study in which children were randomly assigned to two forms of treatment and compared against both a wait-list control group and a validation sample. Analyses included both intention to treat and equivalency testing, and reported treatment gains for both forms of treatment at 1 and 2-year follow ups.

Does parental attributional retraining and anger management enhance the effects of the Triple P-Positive Parenting Program with parents at risk of child maltreatment? Behav Ther 2004; 35:513-535. This study added a cognitive behavioural therapy adjunct to a standard parent-training approach (Group Triple-P) to address anger and negative attributions about child behaviour. Although it found an independent effect for the cognitive behavioural therapy component on parental attributions, it did not ameliorate child behaviour over and above the standard intervention.
