    • It should be noticed that the absorbing species lifetimes detected by laser flash photolysis are, in general, shorter than those of the same luminescent species determined by single photon techniques. This is caused by the much higher photon flux which is used in laser flash photolysis experiments and this, increasing the concentration of excited states, introduces a second order component due to self annihilation in the decay which tends to shorten the lifetime compared with low intensity determinations.

    • No oxidation of the benzamide fragment was observed in a scan of the complexes up to 1.6 V vs. SCE.
