-
J. Scheller, D. Henggeler, A. Viviani, and U. Conrad Purification of spider silk-elastin from transgenic plants and application for human chondrocyte proliferation Transgenic Res 13 2004 51 57 Spider silk-ELP fusion proteins were expressed in the ER of tobacco and enhanced accumulation of the fusion protein (in comparison to levels of spider silk protein) was achieved. The fusion protein could be purified by a procedure that included cooking and inverse transition cycling. The resulting fusion proteins were successfully applied for enhancement of human chondrocyte proliferation.
