LVFX and STFX were dosed as a solution in 0.1 N NaOH immediately after inoculation, followed (in potentiation experiments) by the EPI. 6 was formulated in EtOH/Cremaphore EL/phosphate buffer (pH 7) (5:5:45:45); 8 was formulated in EtOH/Cremaphore EL/0.1 N NaOH/phosphate buffer (pH 7) (5:5:45:45) or EtOH/PEG400/0.1 M NaOH (5:5:90).
