Although this procedure is ostensibly the same as that given for the synthesis of hydroxylamine 5c, it was carried out in a different laboratory and on several occasions gave mainly the amino compound 9c described here. Some of this amine (9c) was formed in the preparation of 5c described above as well, but it was not isolated.
