    • This distance is directly obtained from the line by line sequential recording of the AFM signal at h = 0 nm and the NSOM signal at any given height h (Lift Mode from DI). This mode of operation also ensures that the tip to sample separation is preserved during the recording of the image, compensating for any piezoelectric actuator drift.
