    • Kuo C.D., Chen G.Y. Comparison of three recumbrent positions on vagal and sympathetic modulation using spectral heart rate variability in patients with coronary artery disease. Am. J. Cardiol. 81:1998;392-396 Sabina Frljak, graduated at Medical Faculty, University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, in 2002 and has just started postgraduate course in Biomedicine. In 2000 she joined research group at the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, University Medical Center in Ljubljana, where she was elaborating on myocardial repolarization and heart rate variability in patients after cardiac surgery. Her research interests are in studying the impact of cardiac surgery on electrophysiological and biochemical properties of the heart. Viktor Avbelj received BS and MS degrees in electrical engineering from the University of Ljubljana. Since 1980 he has been at Jožef Stefan Institute working in the fields of digital transmission systems, medical instrumentation and signal processing. His present research interest is the analysis of multichannel and high-resolution ECG. Roman Trobec received his BS, MS and Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Ljubljana. Since 1979 he has been with the Jožef Stefan Institute. Currently, he is a principal investigator in the Department of Communications and Computer Networks. His group is involved in the design and development of parallel computing, computer simulations, medical data processing and digital transmission systems. Bernard Meglič finished neurological specialization in 1996 and works as staff neurologist. His main area of interest is cardiovascular autonomic testing in diseases with dysfunction of autonomic nervous system (ANS). He is head of Neurocardiological laboratory at the Neurological department. His recent work is focused on research of ANS regulation of myocardial repolarization in autonomic disorders. Toshimi Ujiie graduated from Tokai University School of Medicine, Kanagawa, Japan in 1991. He has worked at Hospital Angelina Caron (Curitiba Parana Brasil) as the Clinical Fellow under guidance of Dr. Randas J.V. Batista (1997). Since December 2000, he is working at the University Medical Center Ljubljana, Department of Cardiovascular Surgery under supervision of Prof. Borut Gersak. Currently he is assistant professor at the Tokai University, Department for Cardiovascular Surgery. His research interests are in the field of beating heart surgery and surgical treatment for end-stage heart disease. Borut Gersak received his BS, MS and Ph.D. at Medical Faculty, University of Ljubljana, School of Medicine. Since 1986 he has been with the Department of Cardiovascular Surgery, University Medical Center, where he is an Associate Professor of Cardiovascular Surgery. His research interests extend beyond pure cardio surgery to interdisciplinary approaches in surgery, biomedical engineering and computer simulations of procedures used in cardiovascular surgery.
