    • Full-lenglh Drosophila conventional kinesin, purified as previously described (ref 26) was used at a concentration of 1-5 μg/mL. Before kinesin adsorption, surfaces were exposed to 0.5 mg/mL casein for 3 min to prevent motor denaturation. Any unbound motors were washed off with BRB80 buffer supplemented with 0.2 mg/mL casein and 0.1 mM MgATP.
