N Engl J Med 1997, 337:1500-1505. One of the largest case series published in literature from an experienced center. The authors report an excellent neurologic long-term outcome in arrested hypothermic patients successfully resuscitated with extracorporeal circulation. The Swiss experience stresses the fact that intact, long-term survival is possible in hypothermic patients even in extremities.
