51. The term "proximal" has been introduced by de Gennes in the context of polymer adsorption, in order to describe the particular region where the microscopic details of the surface are relevant (Ref. 42). Here however, we use this term with the general meaning of proximity.

This restriction is actually inherent to the perturbative scheme followed in this work. Note, however, that the correction to the Gibbs adsorbance takes into account the amount of chains located at z <0.
