    • We note that the hydrogen concentration (x-axis in Figs. 6 and 7) is calculated with respect to the Y-film. This accounts for the preferential loading of the Y-film, i.e. all hydrogen is located in the Y-film and the H-concentration in the Pd is smaller than 0.01 H/Pd. However, at high chemical potentials Pd is hydrided, too. Thus, loading of the Pd capping layer leads to values larger than 3 H/Y. This is not the hydrogen concentration in the Y-film which does not exceed 2.95 H/Y.
