    • SIMPLEX is one of the simplest existing optimizers, which gives a local (not absolute) minimization. We chose it because first derivatives are not available. This limitation is expected to have little impact on our results because we start from parameters that are close to optimum, and consequently, we are expecting to be close to the absolute minimum.
