    • Male Sprague-Dawley rats weighing about 250 g were fasted for 24-26 h prior to the beginning of the experiments in individual cages with a mesh bottom, but were allowed free access to tap water. Test samples were suspended in 5% acacia or 0.5% CMC-Na solution. Test samples in vehicle and vehicle only (control group) were given orally at a dose of 5 mL/kg.
