    • D has been calculated using the DFT-LDA states. This is justified as the DFT wave functions are not renormalized by the GW corrections and the dispersion of the metallic band close to the Fermi level is poorly affected by QP effects.

    • Local-field effects are not included in the present work. However, their influence for noble (Refs. 11,12) and transition metals (Ref. 2) has been extensively studied and found negligible on both EELS and absorption spectra.
