    • The pressure in the cell is monitored by a Pirani gauge (Grainville-Phillips Convectron 250), connected to the cell via a straight stainless steel tube, 45 cm long and of a 1.9 mm inner diameter. The gauge is at room temperature, so a difference between the pressure reading and the actual pressure in the cryogenic cell can exist; see T.R. Roberts and S.G. Sydoriak, Phys. Rev. 102, 304 (1956). Also, helium gas flow may affect the pressure reading. By performing a number of measurements, such as the drop of pressure in a known-volume gas supply vessel and pressure measurements for different orifice openings with a ruthenium oxide sensor suspended inside the cell, we established that these effects fall within the absolute calibration uncertainty of the pressure gauge, and have no effect on its relative accuracy.
