    • The slightly higher O/C ratios derived from the C Is XPS peaks than those calculated from survey spectra are not inconsistent with other plasma surfaces due, most probably, to the cross-linked structures (see, for example: Qiu, Y. X.; Klee, D.; Plsüter, W.; Severich, B.; Höcker, H. J. Appl. Polym. Sci. 1996, 61, 2373). As the C Is spectrum given in the inset of Figure 2a indicated no chemical incorporation of oxygen into the carbon nanotube structure (see text), the corresponding curve fitting to O-containing components was not performed.
