    • In order to reduce the computational efforts related to the evaluation of the electrostatic terms, we assigned a net charge of +14 to each dendrimer and neglected the polarization of the graphite plane. The distances between the phen ligands in contact with the graphite surface and the closest surface atoms arc equivalent to those obtained when considering the full treatment of the electrostatic terms, as in the previous calculations.
