    • Models with contributions of two types of kinks (i.e., four free parameters), resulting in bimodal distributions, do not give reliable fits with the current quality of the data. The same holds true for other, more complex (and more realistic) models, e.g., models where the individual deposition/ dissolution events are described not by constant rates but by probability distributions or where these events are not statistically independent.
