The differing temp of growth in bone size, mass and density in girls is region-specific
-
1 Bass SP, Delmas P, Pearce G, Hendrich E, Tabensky A, Seeman E: The differing temp of growth in bone size, mass and density in girls is region-specific. Horm and Metab 1999, 104:795-804. This longitudinal study across puberty shows that prepubertally growth is greater in the limbs, and during puberty growth is greater in the trunk. It also shows large increments in bone size and more modest increments in vBMD across puberty.
