32. Reactions of 9 and 10 with KOH in 2-methy 1-2-butanol also formed styrene and benzyl alcohol in 60 and 58% yields, respectively. This indicates that the PhC≡CH and the PhCHO ligands are not reduced via the hydrogen transfer from alcohol.
