18. The term 2,3-dihydrobilindione is generally used to characterize the basic structure of linear tetrapyrroles covalently bound to photoactive proteins of cyanobacteria, algae, or plants. According to the recommendations of IUPAC the system is termed 2,3-dihydro-23H-bilin-1,19(21H,24H)-dione.
