Cancer Epidemiol Biomarkers Prev 1997, 6:297-301. This is the fifth major paper validating the cancer risk implications of specifically defined histopathologic patterns of atypical hyperplasia designated lobular and ductal patterns. The magnitude of risk for the lobular lesions in the premenopausal group appears to be higher, losing much of its magnitude after the menopause.

Cancer 1996, 78:1403-1416. This represents the first careful attempt to evaluate lesions with combined features of DCIS and LCIS. More minimal histopathologic examples of the lobular series lesions are also shown to have lesser cancer risk implications.
