    • Observed decays expected from "standard" theory at a particular wavelength may not be strictly exponential, due to alternate decay paths from a given minority impurity to other than the nearest majority impurity, which gives a non-exponential time-dependent prefactor, due to acoustic phonon broadening, and due to finite slit width; however, the decay is expected to be close to exponential.

    • A ≤ 170 meV (the largest reported value, e.g. Ref. [8]). Such an unphysical Coulomb shift precludes even attempting a fit of the decay, at a given wavelength, with standard DAP TRPL theory [10], since this requires specific value of R; this value, in turn, would have to be obtained from the Coulomb shift.
