The charge distribution in the spin depletion layer depends on the relative size of the screening length (Thomas-Fermi or Debye) and the width of the domain wall. If the former is much larger than the latter, the situation resembles the ordinary depletion layer in a p-n junction: the charge depleted from the domain wall is balanced by a screening charge over a screening length from the domain wall. This situation is qualitatively depicted in Fig. 1(c). If, on the other hand, the screening length is much shorter than the width of the domain wall, then the domain wall region is essentially neutral.
