n are only partially oxidized even after being exposed to air for 12 h in refluxing xylene. We have found, however, that the samples obtained from our Ni-catalyzed reactions are very air-sensitive even at ambient temperature. It is not clear whether this apparently increased air-sensitivity of our polysilane samples is due to the presence of trace amounts of Ni particles left over from the catalytic reactions.
