    • 3 was titrated into solution of Resorufin, and again there was a decrease in absorbance. Similarly, when just water was titrated into the same solution, a decrease of absorbance was also found. Thus we attributed this change in absorbance to a solvent effect around the indicator. Therefore, we discontinued this procedure of adding anions to the receptor, and instead used the method reported herein.
