    • In general, mesoporous silicates with hexagonal channels oriented parallel to the substrate surface rarely display a (110) diffraction peak (H. W. Hillhouse, J. W. van Egmond, M. Tsapatsis, J. C. Hanson, J. Z. Larese, Microporous Mesoporous Mater. 2001, 44-45, 639-643). We confirmed that the composite silica section removed from the glass surface shows a typical XRD pattern with a more intense (110) diffraction peak (see Supporting Information).

    • A solution of the 1/TCNB CT complex (1:1 molar ratio) in acetonitrile displayed an immediate spectral change associated with the formation of a 1/HAT CT complex upon addition of an equimolar amount of HAT.
