    • It is noted that the absence of strong absorption at 200nm accompanied by the long absorption tail from 500-700nm in the UV-DRS spectra of VNU-1-P points to the possible presence of luminescent carbonaceous impurities. The decomposition of DMF to form guest oligomers that are not easily removed by vacuum may be the cause for this.
