    • Treatment with epinephrine (Adrenaline) in suspected anaphylaxis during anesthesia in Denmark
    • The objective of this excellent retrospective study was to investigate how often epinephrine was used in the treatment of suspected perioperative anaphylaxis in Denmark and whether timing of treatment was important. The authors demonstrated that treatment with epinephrine was often delayed. A lack of a consistent response to suspected perioperative anaphylaxis was also documented. The authors conclude that it is imperative that anesthetic personnel be trained to diagnose and treat anaphylaxis in the difficult setting of surgery and anesthesia

The objective of this excellent retrospective study was to investigate how often epinephrine was used in the treatment of suspected perioperative anaphylaxis in Denmark and whether timing of treatment was important. The authors demonstrated that treatment with epinephrine was often delayed. A lack of a consistent response to suspected perioperative anaphylaxis was also documented. The authors conclude that it is imperative that anesthetic personnel be trained to diagnose and treat anaphylaxis in the difficult setting of surgery and anesthesia.
