    • Dinitrophenyl-l-alanine amide derivatives were analyzed by the reverse-phase HPLC [Deverosil ODS-HG-5 (φ 4.6 x 250 mm), 1 mL/min, 30–40% aq. MeCN with 0.1% TFA (linear gradient for 60 min), 25°C, UV 340 nm]. Retention times of the authentic samples: l-Pro, 15.9 min; d-Pro, 22.0 min; l-Tyr, 20.0 min; d-Tyr, 23.6 min; l-Ile, 40.4 min; d-Ile, 55.5 min; l-Phe, 45.6 min; d-Phe, 61.5 min. Retention times of the samples from the hydrolysate: l-Pro, 15.6 min; l-Tyr, 20.4 min; l-Ile, 40.4 min; l-Phe, 45.7 min, and no d-amino acid derivative peaks were detected.
