    • The (Equation presented) phase is metallic in the LDA but insulating up to 373 GPa in (Equation presented) calculations. To check the accuracy of our metallic LDA-based trial functions for (Equation presented), we also used trial functions from hybrid PBE0 calculations with a much larger band gap. The difference between the two DMC energies was less than 2 meV per proton at all pressures considered.
