We have also performed test calculations of the SOC effect on the (1 × 1)-Te surface structure. Results show that the maximum difference of atomic relaxation with and without SOC is smaller than 0.04 Å, and the calculated relative surface free energies with and without SOC differ by less than 0.5 meV/Å 2.
