It discusses the effects of sociodemographic variables, such as age, sex, education, social class, and baseline score on change in different domains of cognition.

In this brief article, neuropsychological changes in memory, language, visuo-spatial functions, and executive functions associated with each of the four different conditions are reviewed, and the relation between aging and cognition is summarized.

This article provides a two-part model for language comprehension based on the authors' review of fMRI studies. It suggests that language-region areas support comprehension, and are complemented by other regions (for example those responsible for working memory) to maintain effective comprehension with advancing age.
