    • The term 'slow growth' was introduced by Yang and co-workers. In their method the spin-coated active layers are left to slowly dry in a closed Petri dish. The active layer is not exposed to an additional vapour of solvent as in what is commonly called 'solvent annealing'. The effect on crystal growth is believed to be rather similar as in both techniques 'self-oganisation' occurs in locally dissolved molecules in the blend through formation of low energy donor-donor conformations (see ref. 9)
