21. This calculation included the Marches borders which we do not include in this paper. Marches borders are actually "closed" but not constructed as they consist of an undeveloped zone between two states. In this case the border is very poor in connections and often consisting in topographic or 'natural' barriers (jungle of Darien between Panama and Colombia for instance). Our article introduces the term Teichopolitics proposed by Ballif and Rosière to the Anglophone literature.
