If employment change for a detailed occupation is negative, job openings due to growth are zero and total job openings equal replacement needs. For summary occupations, including the total of all occupations, job openings due to growth are summed from detailed occupations. If some detailed occupations are declining and others are growing, job openings due to growth will not equal the projected employment change.
