The experience and impact of living with gout: A study of men with chronic gout using a qualitative grounded theory approach
-
This is the only study to date that thourougly examined the experience of gout from the patients' perspective using a qualitative approach. The study provides detailed insight and striking examples of the impact of gout on both patients and their family. Also, the study shows that patients often experience trivialization and stigmatization which may be a barrier barrier to timely and appropriate medical treatment
