Sulforaphane pretreatment significantly limited lung RSV replication and virus-induced inflammation in Nrf2(+/+) but not in Nrf2(-/-) mice. This study showed that manipulation of antioxidant pathways can have a significant impact on the course of RSV, like influenza another clinically important human RNA virus
