In spin-Peierls systems, which have a stiff dimer order, the introduction of the nonmagnetic impurity bond induces the antiferromagnetic moment (corresponding to a kink structure in the present context) at the farthest distance from the impurity site or bond.
15. i + 1 near the kink structure in the odd L is suppressed, so that the odd- L system we adopt for modified OBC is improper. We comment that the proper analysis given in the paper overcomes this issue.
